Self Respect

Self-respect is something that can get overlooked when it comes to who you associate with. Pretty much if the person causes harm to your life whether it be emotionally or physically, they need to go. You should always make yourself a priority. This doesn't mean that you should make your world all about you like an megalomaniac.  But you also shouldn't be a door mat to people either, no matter what their connection is to you.

If you feel guilty about cutting some people from your life because of how you are connected to them, here is a quote that sums it up nicely: "Cutting People Out of My Life Does Not Mean I Hate Them - It Means I Respect Me". Cutting ties with someone doesn't have to mean you hate them or wish them ill, it just means they don't have a place in your life, especially if they are harmful to your life.

If someone is negatively impacting your life and there is no hope of reconciling it, let go and let live. Let go with love if that makes you feel better. But definitely let go. Letting go doesn't have to equal hate. If you are letting go because you hate someone, you waited too long. Respect yourself -- stay well connected and connect well.
